Tile Leveling Clips & Wedges Usage Chart
The number of clips and wedges needed per square meter when using a tile leveling system can varies based on the size of the tile and the thickness of the tile.
General guideline:
A common recommendation is to use approximately 4 to 5 clips per linear meter, running along the edges of the tile. The number of wedges used corresponds to the number of clips, so for each clip, you'll need a wedge.
For example:
- 600mm x 300mm tiles might require around 22 clips and wedges per square meter.
- Larger tiles, such as 600mm x 600mm, may need fewer clips and wedges, around 11 per square meter.
How fast can your tiler tile per day?
As a rough estimate, an experienced tiler may be able to install anywhere from 15 to 30 square meters of standard-sized tiles (e.g., 300mm x 300mm or 600mm x 600mm) per day.
This means that you’ll need 30 square meters X 22 Wedges per square meter for 600 mm X 300 mm tiles per day, this equals 660 Wedges max. As the wedges are reusable you do not need to match Wedges to Clips only get the amount needed per day per tiler.
Common tile sizes:
600 mm x 600 mm: 11 Clips & Wedges per square meter
300 mm x 600 mm: 22
800 mm x 800 mm: 9
